The Launch Event of the project CWALM – A Lexical Corpus-based Model of Contemporary Written Arabic will take place at the headquarters of the Free University of Languages and Communication IULM in Milan, starting from 11:30 of Thursday 30 June 2022.
The project aims to create a lexicographic resource for Contemporary Written Arabic that takes into account materials whose characteristics are found in real-world Arabic written texts, independent of a preliminary classification on the basis of their linguistic nature.
The project, co-funded by the Italian Ministry of University and Research under the PRIN 2020 Funding Programme, boasts the participation of three Research Units: Roma Tre University, leaded by Prof. Giuliano Lancioni; National Research Council of Italy – Institute for Computational Linguistics “A. Zampolli”, leaded by Dr Ouafae Nahli; Free University of Languages and Communication IULM, leaded by Prof. Manuela Elisa Giolfo.
The event will be introduced by Prof. Giolfo and will be held by Prof. Lancioni, Principal Investigator of the project.
